Cross Flow Frp Pultruted Cooling Tower
This is Induced draft Cross flow cooling tower. Material of construction of structure is FRP Pultruded as per CTI-137. We have developed and upgraded structural design from treated timber to FRP pultruded structure to have long life and eliminated maintenance cost. Treated timber for alkaline water where Ph is more than 8.2 starts delignification, which reduced actual size of treated timber and cause to damages. Life of generally treated timber cooling tower is 2-3 years as compared to FRP Pultruded cooling tower of 10 plus years. Normally Cross flow cooling towers comes with PVC perforated V bars. This design works better for normal quality water but for high TSS or Sugar Industries, Oil industries PVC perforated V bars gets chock and required regular replacement. To avoid and improve life and performance of cooling tower we have introduced PP opti grid design in Cross Flow RCC cooling tower.
Counter Flow Cooling Tower
This is Counter flow Cooling tower, where direction of water fall and inlet air is in parallel direction. Counter flow cooling towers are most efficient, compact design, less power consumption in terms of Pumping head and less ground area, hence it is more preferred over cross flow cooling towers. The fill media of counter flow cooling tower is PVC honeycomb fills (Film design), PVC perforated V bars, PP opti grid (Splash design). Film Design is more compact design compare to splash design. However, selection of fills media is based on water quality.
We generally preferred opti grid fill media as best solutions for any kind of water quality. However cost of the same is high compared to other fill media cooling towers.
Frp Package Type Cooling Towers
FRP package towers, these towers used for AC applications, less water quantity, two stage cooling towers. FRP package towers are designed with counter flow concepts with mostly PVC honeycomb film type. But for high temperature PVC honeycomb design does not work as maximum temperature withstand by PVC honeycomb fills is 52deg.C on continuous basis with high quality virgin material, hence these cooling towers mainly recommends for AC applications. For two stage applications inlet temperature starts @ 80-85 deg.C, hence we recommend FRP cooling tower with PP opti grid design which can withstand @ 110 deg.C and above. Our cooling towers are design with sturdy FRP panels and internal with FRP pultruted structure, which helps to reduce vibration in cooling tower.
Performance Enhancement Of Cooling Towers
Cooling towers after continuous running gets deuterated in performance due to fills chock up, fan blades erosion, mechanical derating etc. To buy new cooling towers is not feasible in terms of cost, hence performance enhancement is essential to improve cooling tower performance. We have done performance enhancement of Counter flow cooling towers from PVC honeycomb film design to Combination design, PVC V Bars to Opti grid design, PVC honeycomb to PP opti grid design (depends on space available at air intake area). We are doing physical inspection of cooling towers, measures current parameters of cooling tower, design suitable fills as per water quality and guarantee the cold-water temperature without much impact on current drawn by motor.
